    I love the manga’s ability to weave great sadness with hope and levity. I feel bad for Souta because it must be hard for him to come to terms with his budding feelings for Mame in the midst of his wife’s death. And Yu – poor kid. Souta and Mame are really similar, it’s kind of striking to me in this chapter especially. They both love with all they’ve got, and I think Souta’s never had someone love him the same way he loves. It’s a beautiful thing, and heartbreaking too.

      Shimura Takako is just really great at this sort of quiet slice of life emotional story. Even something like this where there’s a little more entanglements and drama, it feels very realistic.

    I knew Souta’s bro had a lil crush on Mame. Clearly, it was when he was a kid but his wife’s gonna be pissed lol.

      Yeah, I loved his reaction when he heard she and Souta were going out, lol. On the one hand, I do kind of like the idea of him and Mame together, but I also like his wife and don’t want her to get hurt, so…
