Well, I know some of you are probably disappointed this update isn’t the new Yasha chapter, but I assure you that’s coming soon. In the meantime, here is chapter one of a new series I’m working on, Koi-iji: Love Glutton by Shimura Takako. Shimura Takako is one of my all-time favorite mangaka and I’m thrilled to be able to work on something of hers. I hope you guys will enjoy this new series as much as I have.

    Thank you!! Shimura Takako is also a favorite of mine.

    Do some Japanese kids really refer to their mom and dad by name? I just got bewildered since I haven’t read one like that in a long time. It gives the manga a carefree mood though.

      I’m sure there are some real people who refer to their parents by their first names, but it would be really, really rare and definitely seen as odd. (I mean, it’s seen as odd in the US, too!) I think it’s supposed to show that Yu is kind of quirky, and that her parents were relaxed/not very formal.

      Well, I’ve been a big fan of the author for a long time and wished I could translate something of hers, but I always got there too late. So when I read this series recently, I was surprised to see that no one had scanlated it and decided to do it myself. :)
