  • New project: Gunjo

    So, as you may or may not know, I collaborated on many projects with Kotonoha as translator, including Nakamura Ching’s Gunjo, which has been on hiatus for ages (according to Baka Updates, the final chapter of volume one was released over two years ago!), along with all of Kotonoha’s other projects.

    Well, I recently spoke with Nomad Soul of Kotonoha and got his permission to continue Gunjo without him. I have the raws for vol. 2 and have the first chapter of it already translated, but what I really need is someone to do cleaning and typesetting and all that jazz, as I am already stretched so thin that I don’t think I could do it all on my own (or at least not in a timely manner).

    I don’t know if I’ll be able to do this every month, but I am really hoping to get a double release of this out at least some of the time. The chapters are so short that two of them is really the length of a lot of other series’ single chapters, so hopefully it will be workable!

Meanwhile, Kaito’s protectiveness has given Yoshiki feelings she doesn’t know what to do with, especially as Kaito is still intent on them being “girl friends”.

  • Tensei

    While Kidu and I are still figuring out what we want to do next, I’m happy to announce a new collaborator, NightSwan of HotCakes. I’m going to be doing some translation work for them (I’ll make an announcement here when it’s posted) and they’re doing some cleaning and typesetting for me!

    As some of you may remember, I did some Kawahara Kazune one-shots with Occasional Amateur Scanlations. We finally put out the last story of A Can of Happiness, but I had also translated one and a half stories from another collection called Tensei (Splendid). Those translations have just been sitting on my hard drive all this time, with me thinking maybe someday I would get around to doing the cleaning and typesetting myself, but obviously that never happened. But NightSwan is way better than me at all that stuff, so you’re getting something much nicer than I would have put out myself! :D

    I only have half of the next story in the collection translated (and there’s a third I haven’t even started on) and it’s pretty low priority, but since these are one-shots, it’s not like you’ll be left with a cliff-hanger if it takes a while to get them out. But anyway, if you like Kawahara Kazune or just want to check out some older shoujo (I just looked at the publication date and this is over 20 years old! Wow, I don’t remember it being that long ago… XD), please take a look!

  • Oremono update

    Another group has released all of volume two now, so Kidu and I decided that as much as we love this series, we’re going to end our release with volume one. Neither of us have any desire to duplicate others’ work or to feel like we’re in competition to release something, so yesterday’s chapter will be our last. Hopefully this other group will be able to bring you more consistent updates.

    On the one hand, I’m bummed out because I was really excited about working on Oremono again and hopeful that this time we could be better about getting chapters out, but there are so many other untranslated manga out there that I’m just going to look at it as an opportunity to find something else just as awesome.

    To that end, while we haven’t settled on a new project yet, we are still looking for cleaners and typesetters to help out. (And I’m personally still looking for someone to help out with Tera Girl.)

    Anyway, thanks to everyone who encouraged us with this project. Sorry we weren’t able to see it through. ♥
